Debbie DeAngelo, RNC, BSN, author of Sudden Menopause
(Hunter House) and an
expert on menopausal health and well-being, empowers women to draw upon
their inner strength and wisdom to take charge of their health and their
lives. Her experience as a registered nurse, certified in women’s health
care, and long-term cancer survivor equips her with a unique perspective
from which to motivate and inspire others.
Debbie has devoted her nursing career to educating women of all ages about
menopause since experiencing it herself at the age of 26 due to a total
hysterectomy for treatment of ovarian cancer (click on My
Story for more information). Having been a patient as well
as a nurse, Debbie advocates being an informed health care consumer. Her
inspirational and informative message motivates her audience to take
responsibility for their health and enjoy a higher quality of life.
In addition to being a menopause educator in Erie, PA, Debbie serves as a
health columnist for the Erie Times News and as a health correspondent on
FOX TV. She is also the recipient of the national Spirit of Women Award for
young healthcare leaders as well as the Inspiration
Award from the American Cancer
Society. Debbie shares her story at cancer survivorship events in
order to encourage others (“Conquering Cancer: Life Lessons Learned.”)
She also addresses topics such as “Is it HOT in here or is it me?”
(menopause) and “Energize Your Life.” If you are looking for a speaker
